5 Greatest Love Songs of all Time


Humans have a gift of expressing love in many different ways. And one of these great ways is through music and songs.

We know there are countless of them out there, but for now, let us talk about the 5 greatest love songs of all time.

1.    Unchained Melody (Righteous Brothers) – this 1955 hit song by Hy Zaret and Alex North is one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century. Then the Righteous Brothers’ 1965 version of the song brought another round of popularity to it and was even featured in one of the most unforgettable movies of all time, Ghost. Unchained Melody peaked at #4 on the Billboard 100 and placed at #365 in Rolling Stone Maga5zine’s list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

2.    With or Without You (U2) – this track from their 1987 album The Joshua Tree is the second of U2’s most frequently covered songs. It was placed at #131 in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. It tells about being in love and in a relationship wherein one cannot live without knowing how the other feels.

3.    Love Me Tender (Elvis Presley) – it is a song adapted from a Civil War ballad called Aura Lee. The song received advanced orders before it was even released, making it a gold record. Love Me Tender peaked at #1 on the Billboard charts on November 3, 1956, and was ranked #437 on the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list of Rolling Stone Magazine. The song tells about how a man wants to express his love for his woman, and how he wants his woman to love him back.

4.    I’ll Make Love to You (Boyz II Men) – this is a 1994 hit single from Boyz II Men which peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks, and won the 1995 Grammy Awards. This song shows how two people can rekindle their love for each other and forget the stress of work and life.

5.    Truly Madly Deeply (Savage Garden) – this 1997 hit single of the Australian duo is a remake of their older song called “Magical Kisses”. It is also the theme of Jude Law and Gretchen Mol’s movie Music from Another Room. The song is about two lovers never wanting to be apart and wanting to be together forever.
