Famous Musicians Who Died Young

Musicians are some of those artists that people get inspiration from, and some of those legendary personalities died too young long before their time. Although they may no longer be with us, they left legacies that last throughout the music industry.
Some of the famous musicians who died young are listed below.

Aaliyah
She was born in January 16, 1979 as Aaliyah Dana Haughton, an American recording artist and actress who had a number of hits in the Billboard charts and sold over 30 million albums worldwide. The 22-year-old Aaliyah and eight other people were killed in a Bahamas plane crash. Reports showed that the crash was due to plane overload with an unlicensed pilot high in cocaine pilot.

Tupac Shakur
He was a very well known American rapper, born Tupac Amaru Shakur on June 16, 1971. Tupac was named by Rolling Stone as the 86th Greatest Artist of All Time. He sold over 75 million albums worldwide. Tupac was shot multiple times at an intersection in Las Vegas and died 6 days later at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada. He was 25 years old.

John Lennon
Who could ever forget the famous English musician and The Beatles member John Winston Ono Lennon? He wrote and produced many iconic songs, and sold millions of albums along with his band. On December 8, 1980, at the age of 40, Lennon was shot four times in the back at the entrance of his New York apartment by a man named Mark Chapman. Lennon’s body was cremated at Ferncliff Cemetery.

Amy Winehouse
She was born Amy Jade Winehouse on September 14, 1983. Winehouse is an English singer-songwriter who won 5 Grammy Awards in 2008. BBC gave her the title as the “pre-eminent vocal talent of her generation". She sold many albums and won many awards as a musician. But on July 23, 2011, the 27-year-old Winehouse died in her London home due to alcohol intoxication.

Jimi Hendrix
Hew was born Johnny Allen Hendrix on November 27, 1942. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame dubbed him as the “greatest instrumentalist in the history of rock music”. Hendrix’s immeasurable skills with the guitar won him many awards and set him down in Rock n’ Roll history. Then on September of 1970, Hendrix’s girlfriend found him unconscious at her residence. She called an ambulance where Hendrix was transported to the hospital and was pronounced dead at 12:45pm on September 18, 1970. Autopsy reports concluded that Hendrix died of asphyxiation while intoxicated with barbiturates.
